2009-10 What has been happening?

Hello again.

I have been an infrequent poster over the last 18 months. This was a time through which I cared for my father Jack. Addressing all of the issues involved in acquiring use of a nearby Independent Living Unit and then supporting his move out of the beloved family home and garden of 60 years. It was a tough exercise for the family but he soon settled. It was areal privilege for me to spend so much time with the "old man" in his final year of a long and accomplished life. The care and professional support of the people throughout the Hammondville Homes facilities were superb.

As well I must give a big hug to the Liverpool Hospital Emergency Care, Ward Care and Aged Care for their great work with the several extended visits with Dad since July 2009.

The last six months of 2010 were an emotional  roller coaster for me. In August dad died, then in September and October I lost two mates from my school years. All three attended my 60th birthday organised by my sons in April. Alas in November I was gifted a beautiful grand daughter, Lara to Luke and Dee. Oh the wondrous cycle of life.

I have good health myself and am a happy and still fit ( to a point) 60 year old. I still do my Surf Life Saving at Garie Beach over summer, bush walk in winter, ride a bike and paddle a kayak when I can.

Cheers
